Aprašymas: A German officer addresses his men in a dugout. They emerge from the dugout and man their trench against an Australian attack. The Australians storm the trench and throw grenades down into the dugouts. The view of a German machine-gunner as a creeping barrage gets closer. British troops emerge, walk forward in line, and take cover from the machine gun in shellholes. A German officer tells headquarters by telephone that the British are about to attack, then briefs his men in their dugout. British troops move forward, following the white tape to the start line. The men wait in the attack trenches for the hour of the attack, while the Germans sleep in their dugouts.
Three extracts from fictional films showing British and Australian attacks on the Western Front, First World War.
